See many of England’s iconic destinations and attractions along England’s Great West Way® - a new touring route between London and Bristol. Pick up your car rental in London and continue to Windsor. Explore the town including, Eton College and Windsor Castle, where Prince Harry married Meghan Markle. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stonehenge & Avebury or take a short detour off the route to explore the medieval city of Salisbury and its magnificent cathedral which has the UK’s tallest church spire at 404 feet/123m. Continue off the route into Somerset visiting Longleat on the way and taking time to sample cheese and view the gorge and stalactite filled caves of Cheddar. Return to the Great West Way for one of the most beautiful and recognisable cities of England, Bath before discovering the beautifully preserved village of Lacock and the rolling hills and stone walls of the Cotswolds.

Itinerary

Day 1: London - Windsor
Arrive into your London airport and pick up your hire car. Continue to the Windsor area to start exploring the Great West Way. If time allows, enjoy a hop on hop off sightseeing tour of Windsor and Eton or visit Windsor Castle,
the home of the Royal Family, where Prince Harry married his Meghan, before checking into your overnight hotel.

Day 2: Stonehenge - Salisbury
Continue your exploration of the Great West Way today. You may choose to stop at Bombay Sapphire Distillery to learn about gin making. Just south of the Great West Way, why not visit prehistoric Stonehenge – part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site – before continuing to Salisbury. On arrival into Salisbury, take a walk around this picturesque market town and stop by Salisbury Cathedral for a visit or for photos of the tallest cathedral in England. Day 3: Somerset
You may choose to head straight to Bath to experience this heritage city today, or leave the Great West Way to discover the Somerset region area of England, with the cathedral city of Wells, the alternative town of Glastonbury and the dramatic scenery of Cheddar Gorge. While in Cheddar, be sure to sample their cheese, many of which are stored in the surrounding caves. The area is also known for their cider production, and there are opportunities to visit a cider farm to learn about the cider making process, before continuing to Bath to re-join the Great West Way. Day 4: Bath
This morning take a walk around Bath, one of the most beautiful and recognisable cities in England, and why not visit the historic Roman Baths before starting your drive back east? Along the way, you may choose to explore one of the many pretty Cotswolds villages in the area, such as Castle Combe and Lacock, or stop in Avebury, a small village within a standing stone circle, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with Stonehenge. Day 5: Departure
Continue your drive back to London airport to return your hire car and fly out of London. Or why not extend in London for a couple of nights, to explore the capital city of Britain? You may choose to take an open top sightseeing tour of London, or visit one of the many famous attractions such as the Tower of London or the London Eye. (B)
