Day 1. Arrive Victoria
On arrival in Victoria, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to settle in to your room then meet your fellow travellers at a Welcome Dinner.

Day 2. Victoria, The Butchart Gardens
Spend the afternoon on your selected sightseeing experience. With a free evening at hand, you may explore the city on your own terms. B

Signature Experience
This morning visit The Butchart Gardens before the crowds and enjoy breakfast in the original Butchart residence. With access to the gardens before they open to the general public, you’ll relish the chance to inspect the incredible display of blooms in peace and serenity.

Freedom of Choice Sightseeing
Perhaps join a whale watching cruise; take a seaplane flight; learn about the city’s heritage district on a guided tour; fish for salmon; ride in a horse-drawn carriage; or delight in afternoon tea at the elegant Fairmont Empress.

Day 3. Victoria, Georgia Strait, Whistler
Pause in the town of Chemainus before taking the ferry across Georgia Strait. Treasure the scenery as you travel north along the spectacular Sea to Sky Highway, passing Shannon Falls before arriving at Whistler. Perhaps take a one-hour floatplane flight from Victoria to Whistler (own expense). Arrive in Whistler by midday and enjoy more time at leisure.

Day 4. Whistler, Sun Peaks
Travel through the Coast Mountains, stopping at both Duffey and Seton lakes on your way to Sun Peaks, Canada’s second largest ski area set beneath three famous summits - Mt Tod, Sundance Mountain and Mt Morrisey.

Day 5. Sun Peaks, Mt Robson, Blue River, Jasper
Join the Yellowhead Highway and before crossing into Alberta, stop to take in views of the south face of Mt Robson, the highest peak in the Rockies. Today’s journey concludes on arrival at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, in the heart of beautiful Jasper National Park.

On arrival in Blue River, board a custom-designed boat and skim over the waterways watching for the grizzly and black bears that are frequently sighted here, as well as other native creatures.

Day 6. Jasper, Athabasca Glacier, Lake Louise
 Join the Icefields Parkway and wind through the majestic scenery of the Canadian Rockies. After pausing to take in Maligne Canyon and Athabasca Falls, stop at the Columbia Icefield. Here, you’ll board an Ice Explorer vehicle and journey right onto the surface of Athabasca Glacier. Afterwards, take the opportunity to admire Peyto Lake before continuing on to Lake Louise and the iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

Day 7. Lake Louise, Banff
Set out along the Trans-Canada Highway through the lush, evergreen forests of Banff National Park. En route, stop to absorb one of the most photographed panoramas of Banff National Park, the turquoise waters of Moraine Lake. Later in Banff, head to the town centre for a tour, then board the Banff Gondola and ascend Sulphur Mountain from where you’ll enjoy panoramic views out over six surrounding mountain ranges.

Day 8. Banff

While it is best known as a winter playground, the warmer months bring lush landscapes that are perfect for outdoor activities. Experience it all on your chosen activity today. You’ll then look forward to a relaxing evening left free for you to enjoy your surrounds. B

Take part in the Banff Experience - which includes a visit to the Cave and Basin National Historic Site. Or, absorb bird’s-eye views of the national park on a heli-flightseeing trip. Perhaps enjoy a float trip along Bow River or learn to be a Canadian ice hockey player with an elite team. You might like to spend your morning relaxing at the Willow Stream Spa or set out on a cruise on Lake Minnewanka.

Day 9. Banff, Rocky Mountaineer, Kamloops
Board the Rocky Mountaineer and relax in your glass-dome GoldLeaf Service carriage. Traverse Kicking Horse Pass, travel through the Spiral Tunnels and journey past Shuswap Lake as you’re indulged with free-flowing drinks.

Day 10. Kamloops, Rocky Mountaineer, Vancouver
Your rail journey continues this morning. Enjoy views to rocky slopes as your train follows the Thompson River and the Coast Mountains on the way to Vancouver.

Day 11. Vancouver
Explore Vancouver on a guided tour. Visit Stanley Park, then head to Granville Island, the bustling heart of Vancouver’s cultural scene. Also see English Bay and Vancouver Harbour, before some free time. BD

Day 12. Vancouver, Embark Ship
Bound for the glacial waters and wild landscapes of Alaska’s Inside Passage, your Princess Cruises ship awaits on Vancouver Harbour. Step aboard, settle in and familiarise yourself with the ship.

Day 13. Cruise the Inside Passage 
Enjoy a full day at sea as your ship cruises along coastal British Columbia and the Alaska Panhandle. Glide past rocky headlands and over the icy waters of the Inside Passage, one of the most picturesque sea lanes in the world and one of the few where deep-draft vessels can sail close to steep mountain walls. Spend time taking in the scenery from your verandah or step above deck. BLD 

Day 14. Ketchikan
Dock in Ketchikan, a town set on the shores of the Tongass Narrows. Ketchikan acts as a gateway to a wide variety of attractions, including Misty Fjords National Monument - one of America’s largest wilderness areas.  BLD

Day 15. Juneau
After a morning of scenic cruising, arrive at Alaska’s capital, Juneau. Spend the day at leisure, or set off on one of the excursions available to you (own expense). BLD

Day 16. Skagway
Arrive in Skagway, once a gateway city for the Klondike Gold Rush, at the northernmost point of the Inside Passage. Here, a variety of excursions are on offer (own expense). BLD

Day 17. Glacier Bay National Park
Draw back your curtains to World Heritage-listed Glacier Bay National Park. As you cruise through rivers of ice and between skyscraping peaks, you’ll enjoy commentary from rangers who have come aboard your ship. BLD

Day 18. College Fjord
Relax and take in the scenery today as you cruise through College Fjord, with its five stunning tidewater glaciers. Like in Glacier Bay, humpback whales can often be seen feeding in the waters of the fjord. BLD

Day 19. Whittier, Disembark Ship, Talkeetna, Denali (Mt McKinley)
Arrive in Whittier. Here, disembark your ship for the final time and board Princess Cruises’ exclusive Direct-to-the-Wilderness rail service. After settling in to your room, enjoy dinner at your wilderness lodge.

Day 20. Denali (Mt McKinley), Talkeetna

Day 23. Denali National Park, Fairbanks
Cruise the Chena River aboard a sternwheeler and travel back to a time when riverboats filled Alaska’s waterways.

Day 24. Fairbanks 
Travel along the Tanana Valley Railroad to Gold Dredge 8, a National Historical Monument. See first-hand how the dredge worked the gold fields back in the early 1900s and then pan for gold. Continue on to see the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Later this evening, enjoy a memorable Farewell Dinner with your fellow passengers. BD

Day 25. Depart Fairbanks
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward journey. B
