Itinerary

Day 1: Saigon
Hotel: Northern Hotel (or similar)
On arrival in Saigon, transfer to your hotel. Make your own discoveries as you spend time independently exploring one of Vietnam’s most vibrant cities. This evening, meet your local English-speaking guide and fellow travellers at a tour briefing.

Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnels
Hotel: Northern Hotel (or similar)
Venture south of Saigon and navigate your way through the incredible network of underground tunnels at Cu Chi. Enjoy a walking tour of Saigon’s most impressive sites and landmarks. Discover the Notre Dame Cathedral, War Remnants Museum and the Municipal Theatre before strolling down Dong Khoi Street.

Day 3: Day at Leisure
Hotel: Northern Hotel (or similar)
Spend the day at leisure exploring Saigon. Alternatively, choose from a range of full and half day tours (extra charge) to explore the Mekong Delta by speedboat, discover Saigon’s street life on a walking tour or learn about Vietnamese cuisine during a cooking class.

Day 4: Saigon to Hue
Hotel: Moonlight Hotel (or similar)
Fly north from Saigon to Hue, a former imperial capital. Visit the city’s most famous sites including the Imperial Palace, Citadel and Thien Mu Pagoda, and gain a glimpse into Hue’s historic past.  

Day 5: Hue to Hoi An
Hotel: Atlas Hotel (or similar)
Take in some of Vietnam’s most beautiful scenery as you drive along the Hai Van Pass to Hoi An.  Stroll through this charming riverside town which is famous for its tailors and preserved architecture – an interesting mix of Chinese, Japanese and French influence. Visit an old merchant house, a Chinese Assembly Hall and the famous Japanese Covered Bridge.

Day 6: Hoi An
Hotel: Atlas Hotel (or similar)
Enjoy a free day to do as much or as little as you like in Hoi An. Explore the town’s many clothing shops, colourful markets and river life or venture out to the nearby beach. Alternatively, choose from a range of full or half day tours (extra charge) and become a fisherman or local for a day, explore Hoi An by bicycle or discover My Son and the Cham ruins – the choice is yours. 

Day 7: Hoi An to Halong Bay
Cruise: Indochina Sails Overnight boat
Fly to Haiphong and drive to Halong Bay to board your junk boat. Cruise the emerald waters of Halong Bay, whilst exploring this spectacular region and feast on fresh seafood. In the evening, retreat to your cabin.

Day 8: Halong Bay to Hanoi
Hotel: Golden Lotus Luxury Hotel (or similar)
Rise early to see the sun rise over Halong Bay. Continue exploring the bay before returning to Hanoi, the nation’s capital. Discover the narrow streets of the Old Quarter during a walking tour with your local English-speaking guide.

Day 9: Hanoi City Tour
Hotel: Golden Lotus Luxury Hotel (or similar)
Discover Hanoi’s must-visit sites including the Ho Chi Minh Quarter, ‘Hanoi Hilton’ prison and the ancient Temple of Literature. Spend the afternoon at leisure or choose from a range of half day tours (extra charge) including a foodie tour, a cooking class or design your own city tour to suit your interests.   

Day 10: Hanoi
Transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
